Sai joined MIDC in June 2026 and is based in Oakland County. His interest in indigent defense developed in law school, where he clerked with public defender offices in New York City, externed with the Equal Justice Initiative in Montgomery, Alabama, and drafted a successful clemency petition for a client in federal prison.

Prior to joining MIDC, Sai was a public defender for five years in Albuquerque, New Mexico and Washington, D.C., representing children and adults. He most recently served at the University of New Mexico, resolving in-house civil rights matters. Earlier in his career, Sai taught high school in Detroit through Teach for America. He earned his J.D. from NYU School of Law, an LL.M. in Advocacy from Georgetown University Law Center, and is a Certified Compliance and Ethics Professional (CCEP).
